Okay. I want this computer. But I want a computer that has max RAM of 4GB. But some websites tell me its max is 4GB and some say 2GB. Does anybody know????

Newegg says 4GB:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883103146

Circuit City says 2GB:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Acer-Aspire-Desktop-PC-AM1610U1201A/sem/rpsm/oid/191232/catOid/-12962/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do#proddesc

Acer (while vague) leads me to believe 4GB:
http://us.acer.com/public/page9.do?sp=page4&dau34.oid=34231&UserCtxParam=0&GroupCtxParam=0&dctx1=25&CountryISOCtxParam=US&LanguageISOCtxParam=en&ctx3=-1&ctx4=United+States&crc=600923287

And quite a few other sites say 2GB, but they all look like the copy/pasted the same description.

So, what the heck?

:confused::confused:

Acer's site states quite clearly that you can install two cards with 2GB each to a grand total of 4 GB, provided that you can find matching cards with 2GB. They also state that if you buy the PC with a card of less than 2GB you will have to replace it with one of 2GB if you want to use as much RAM as you possibly can.

They also state that you probably won't be able to buy one which is initially equiped with 4GB.

That was the impression I got, but I guess I suck at reading. Thanks

im just ganna put this out there, in a laptop 4gb is pretty useless, hell its not that great in a desktop ((look the signature to see im telling truth)) im rarely using 1.5gb, and thats only when a virtualbox open, but in laptop ram, the 4gb sets are usually ddr2 533 or at best ddr2 667, i say go with the 2gb in ddr2 800 if its possible, more speed and nobody really uses that much ram, except vista x64 users, which i once was

Actually, it is a desktop anyway. (Weird, I know)

But I just want it to be upgradable to 4GB for future-proofing it. It comes with 1GB standard, which is fine by me for now.
