Launched Applications do not gain focus (8.04)

Since upgrading to 8.04 (from 7.10), launched windows no longer gain focus. I'll launch something, from either the apps menu, or from items directly on my panel, and they launch, however, they either launch behind existing windows (if the entire desktop is filled), or will launch to the side, and in both cases, do not gain focus.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any known solutions?
