A search didn't turn up any answers, so here's the question. I have installed 8.04 server edition (LAMP) in a VM, and am trying to get Agora Cart 5.2 up and going on it. Apache works, I got to the "It works" page.
However, I now get 403 Forbidden errors "You don't have permission to access /agora.cgi on this server." when I go to the page, and the contents of /var/www look like this :
root@sftsvm:/var/www# ls -l
total 148

I have Option +ExecCGI set in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf

I realise how insecure this is, but this is just a sandbox for me to familiarise myself with the technologies. I'll get it working before I get it working securely.

I have searched around for others' stories on getting this to work, but can find none, and fear I may be too thick to find the right piece of documentation to tell me why this happens. Can anyone shed any light on this, or point me at the appropriate documentation?

Thanks in advance.
