How to create application launcher

Hello everyone. I'm using Kubuntu with KDE 4.0. I love the interface - it's very slick. I've had no problems with it. What I can't figure out how to do, though, is easily create new application launcher icons. I'd love to have one placed somewhere in my "Start" menu (not sure what else to call it...) for kcontrol. The only way I know of now to launch that application is by typing out the command. Can someone help me figure this out?

I think kde provides a kmenu editor, you can add there whatever you want in your menus
