Hey folks,

This is my first post to this community so please excuse me if I am posting in the wrong place or am bring up a old topic.

I recently deleted far too many necessary files to try to build Hardy back up on my own. I'm a complete newbie. So I chose to reinstall Hardy and chose not to import any thing as this was a new install any ways. To get to my question; Why are my settings maintained after a clean install? Previously I chose to use AWM and remove my lower panel. I also still have the same daemons in my system bar at the top right of the screen. Sorry about the vocab I'm not up on all the jargon yet. So if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate hearing them.

Thanks in advance.

My /home was on the partition that was reformatted. The more I dig into the computer the more my settings remain. Even Evolution remember all of my settings and accounts.

Thank you for your speedy reply.
