I recently downloaded the amd64 version of Ubuntu 8.04, and it works great for a little bit, but after a few minutes the system freezes cold. When it freezes, the mouse and keyboard stop working. I have to power down to continue. I don't know what it could be...it seems to have found all of my hardware and there are no visible error messages before it freezes.
Here's the hardware I'm running this on:
ASUS A8S-X motherboard
1 GB RAM
XFX 128 MB video card (GeForce 6500)
80 GB SATA hard drive
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor
I'm guessing it's a hardware issue. Has anyone had any issues with running Ubuntu on some of these pieces of hardware?
