Hi all,

here is my problem:

I have two PCs one XP and one Ubuntu feisty(not server), I have a netgear wireless router.

I have followed loads of different guides and can still not share any files across my network. Have set up folders to be shared and set MSHOME as workgroup, followed guides to the T and still cannot find the other machine from XP, on ubuntu machine there are no machines in workgroup not even ubuntu machine.

I have also noted that I cannot ping either machine from the other but can ping them from the router via browser.

the folder I want to share is /home/shared.

I think the problem may stem from the fact i cannot even ping the machines.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

in xp, terminal ==> ipconfig /all
in ubuntu, terminal ==> ifconfig

does it look the same? (same subnet, same netmask)
