I left my Ubuntu testing box opened and went out to get some things. Before I got back, one of my aunts was already using it to browse all sorts of websites. now, I found a virus trojan on one of my shared folders with Windows. Which Antivirus can I use to delete the trojan and antispy?

Most likely a windows viruse, and it is non-leathel to Linux. ;)

I think It's a windows virus. I scanned the linux shared folder over network last night from my laptop(windows) using kaspersky AV and it got it removed. But I think I'm going to have to reinstall my linux. What is the AV(antivirus) for Linux so far?

Relax...

While it is always a good exercise to re-install Linux, it is not required in this case. Simply use Nautilus to delete the offending file(s).

If you really want, you can install ClamAV to scan Windows shares.

Cheers,

Herman

I never thought of Clamav will do the job, I thought it's only good for emails.. :)

Thanks. I will use that to re-trace whatever threat that might be there instead of re-installing ubuntu
