I was trying to install virtualbox-ose-modules and the next time I rebooted, the sound would not work and it went into no visual effects mode. Any help appreciated.

I think it might have something to do with my graphics card... My computer can't tell which graphics card I'm using:confused:

AFAIK virtualbox-ose-modules messes with the kernel - don't you get additional kernel choices in your GRUB menu? If so - chose the previous kernel version and I reccomend that you install the binary version of Virtualbox they provide for Ubuntu. A lot less hassle.

I mean by that that you will be better off installing this version of Virtualbox:

I am no expert - I just had similar problems after installing the ose version.
