Hello all,
I can't quite figure out this problem that I'm having trying to get Ubuntu 8.04 installed on an eMachine T3265. The problem comes when I hit the disk partitioner. The live CD boots all the way and starts to install just fine, but when it hits the partitioner and gets cracking away at making the first partition, it stops around 5% and never progresses. While the partitioner is trying to run, I hear the disk inside the machine spinning and seeming like it's working, and then it will sound like it powers down. Then it starts running again, this continues, no progress for over an hour. One attempt produced an error saying that it couldn't create the partitions and then wouldn't show the device in the partitioner menu when it took me back to the menu. I have tried to boot the system with "noapic nolapic pci=noacpi", because that fixed a similar issue a while back on an HP machine. I'm fresh out of ideas, anyone had a similar issue they were able to overcome?
Here are some specs on the system:
CPU: AMD Athlon™ XP 3200+ Processor
QuantiSpeed™ Architecture operates at 2.200GHz
