what forum can i ask where to import my pictures an music from my hard drive...i don't wanna ask in the wrong room..thnx

You can ask here, but you will need to be a little more specific about what you want to do. Import pictures and music from what hard drive to where?

i'm on a dual boot,i can't access my picture folder from window when i'm in ubuntu,i want to transfer those along with my music files also...

OK, if you are running Windows XP, the tool you need is ntfs-3g which I believe is install by default, but if it isn't you can install it from Synaptics Package Manager. It's called libntfs-3g23. Once installed, you can just go to

Places>Computer

and click on the Windows partition. From there, you should see your Pictures and Music folders. Drag and drop is supported, so you shouldn't have any problem.

i only seem to have libntfs-3g12..it that the same thing or equal?

Should be fine. Are you able to browse to your Windows partition using the file manager? Is it listed under "places"?

file manager is not there,i can't see anything
