I'm talking about setting up a server computer, a blade server, whatever you want to call it. Not a desktop/laptop computer that is used as a server.

My question is, is it possible to set these things up yourself? Since most of them do not include a video card, it would seem impossible to install an operating system on them. Does this mean you have to get them preinstalled? I have used the "old computer as a server" approach in the past but want to move to a more professional setup. Thanks.

Here's one I've been looking at. It really is close to being perfect, except it doesn't have a webserver, which is a must for me. I'm guessing it has it's own (probably linux-based) operating system already. So, would it be possible to install ubuntu server edition on this? If so, how do I get into it? I've seen some websites that talk about telneting into servers, is that how it works?
