View Full Version : Mono: file chooser widget + window size

Hello folks!

I have a small question concerning programming in mono (I'm using MonoDevelop).

The context:

I'm creating an application which at some point shows a file chooser widget to save text to a HTML file. The file chooser has an Expander arrow which shows/hides the two-paned file browser of the file chooser window.

The file chooser window is expanded by default (I don't know how to change this default behaviour, but that's not the real problem).

The problem:

The window containing the file chooser has the size (approximately) of the expanded file chooser widget. When I unexpand the file chooser widget, the size of the windows remains the same. This shows a lot of unused space on this window.

What I would like:

I would like the window height to become smaller when the file chooser is unexpanded, and bigger when the file chooser is expanded (just like The Gimp does, in the "File -> New" dialog).

Is there any way to accomplish this behaviour?
