I have upgraded to Ubuntu 7.0, Release 7.0, but no panels (including the top and bottom taskbars) are visible in gnome.
I can launch various windows from the terminal (ie, synaptic, firefox), but when I try and launch gnome-panel I get an error with regards to an unfound symbol in libcairo.so.2. The symbol is FT_Library_SetLcdFilter.
I get the missing symbol problem when trying to use kde, although the library is /usr/lib/libXft.so.2.
I have posted this as a bug, but have not heard anything back for the last two weeks.
As I have currently a severely restricted system I would appreciate any help/pointers.
Thanks
