View Full Version : [ubuntu] Protect port with password

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone knows how to protect a port on apache server with a password?

I.e i've got a video stream (provided by mjpg-streamer or webcam_server, which opens if you enter www.mysite.org:9000, which i want to protect using php. However the streamer only supports http authentication, so the horrible pop-up login window jumps out, and I can't find a way of how to make php automatically fill in the username and password.

So I thought, maybe I could execute the streamer without authetication and use some other software, like a firewall, to allow php authenticated users to access that port??

Thx. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
