Where are the physical offices of Canonical? From what I gather from the jobs @ Canonical and other sources, the physical facilities are in:

offices headquartered in London, England
global support and services operation in Montreal, Canada
Head of MSG Engineering in Lexington, Massachusetts

Are there physical offices in Australasia (New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea) as well as Brazil, Russia, India, China and Taiwan or are these just job sites?

Thanks in advance,
-klrwlf

There's also one at Isle of Man, as far as I know. The London office is located at the Millbank Tower (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millbank_Tower).

What does Canonical do in Isle of Man? Is there a special function at that office site?

TIA,

Canonical is registered there. I'm not sure about the reason (do a web search); probably for the neutrality of its legislation regarding certain legal issues such as patents. I've also heard people say avoiding taxes is among the reasons, but I haven't heard anything straight from the source about that. I suggest you do a search for some of the earlier interviews Mark Shuttleworth has given.

And once a year they use the TT race to wind up the generators they use for power, which is why the servers are slowing down - in 14 days they should pick up speed again.

Also I believe that English law doesn't apply as they have their own, I suspect that 23meg is close.

The Isle of Man is a well known tax haven with 0% corporation tax; lots and lots of big companies have various holding companies there to take advantage of this. I once heard that there were more limited companies registered on the IoM than people. I'd be surprised if Canonical were located there for any other reason, it's not exactly Silicon Valley! Anyway, better be careful what I say about the Manx, don't want to get birched...!!

Doesn't tell you the real address though, I don't think. :)

As 23meg posted, their HQ is at Millbank tower, London.
