View Full Version : [ubuntu] Fresh ubuntu installation...

Hello All,
I want to completely run my computer in ubuntu. Right now, i have 2 operating system, ubuntu and XP. Ubuntu installed with WUBI. But now, i have made a decision migrate from XP to Ubuntu completely. I wan't to Reinstall my computer in only ubuntu installation, and ofcourse, a fresh one. The problem begin.... My CD ROM Laptop is broke,it doesn't support floppy drive, and can't boot from USB. The only thing is my laptop connected to a LAN. Please show me how to do fresh ubuntu installation, with my current condition. Really appreciate for your help...

use unetbootin (http://lubi.sourceforge.net/unetbootin.html) windows version. Install ubuntu then use gparted to delete windows and resize ubuntu to use the unallocated space.


Edit: reading the unetbootin website you will not have to worry about using gparted to resize as unetbootin can replace the existing OS entirely.

Please visit the following links for instructions to install ubuntu from hard disk without using cd/dvd drive or floppy drive.

is this ok with my notebook which doesn't support boot from usb? You don't need usb for unetbootin to work.
