X server keeps restarting randomly for no apparent reason

I don't know what I did or what's causing this but X server keeps restarting itself randomly every few hours in my ubuntu (gnome)! I'm lost, i couldn't find any error messages in xorg's logs.

It's really annoying because if there's something im working and it's left unsaved then it will be lost.

help please

intel q6600 (64bit ubuntu)
asus p5k
gf 8800 gts 512mb using restricted drivers

i had everything working fine until just recently even with restricted nvidias drivers. im dont know what caused it act like this all the sudden.
ive updated all the packages to the newest ones.
