Without knowing it I just clicked my side buttons which hadn't worked in Hardy and loe and behold, page forward and backward!!!
Not earth shattering I know but I used that feature many moons ago in Windows and liked it.

I know, surprised me too. now the other buttons need to magically work and I'll be placated .

You could always try btnx (http://www.ollisalonen.com/btnx/)
It has to be compiled (but it ain't that complicated), and it got all my mouse buttons to work exactly the way I wanted them to.

Happy BunnyWTH? On my Debian, my forward/back buttons work in FF2, but not FF3.

holy sh**! I never bothered trying because I thought it would just be like gutsy and not work. Woohoo!
