I would like to know what people have experienced using the different BSDs in the desktop environment. I am currently using FreeBSD and have only learned a bit. What have others come to find with Open, Net and Dragon BSD?

I love NetBSD. It's stable, fast, and not too much of a pain to set up. Pkgsrc is a godsend. Though Net doesn't include a DE by default, there are some Xfree86 sets on the install CD that work well. DragonFly has a huge amount of potential, but it needs some work. Their implementation of pkgsrc is a bit incomplete.

Pkgsrc is NetBSD's software installation system. Google is your friend: http://www.netbsd.org/docs/pkgsrc/introduction.html

It definitely is the easiest. Highly recommended.

DesktopBSD has a weekly snapshot for those that want to try out version 1.7 which is based on FreeBSD 7.0. Check it out here:

Which MONODA probably wants, as he (or she) has a wireless card supported by the wpi driver, first included in FreeBSD 7.0.
