In the past with Ubuntu you could have several desktops and be able to switch between them. I am using Ubuntu Studio and it doesn't seem to have this feature, is it jus truned off or has it been removed completely?
With all the software I'm likely to be using with audio editing it would be handy to have several screens to set out windows.

I just installed Xfce, on my ubuntu. Then you get the choice at login time. So I guess if you install them, you will get the choice again.

Ubuntu studio uses Gnome I believe, so yeah you should have that. Perhaps the "Workspaces" applet is not added to the panel. You can configure them from there.

If you use Hardy you have built-in possibility(wasn't in Gusty) to do it with simple System->Preferences->Screen Resolution : Clone screens checkmark

But I remember I saw in Linux Format Mag and article about Xinerama software for the same purpose. Check that thing out.
