I saw that some very basic messages of the Xubuntu Hardy are not translated (to Hungarian). I would be ready to contribute to the translation but I can't find it (e.g. xfce4-session) on launchpad.net. What should I do?

have you had a look here (http://www.xubuntu.org/devel#translating)?

Yes I did. But I lost interest as soon as I discovered that the translation already exists here (http://i18n.xfce.org/stats/index.php?mode=4&lang=xfce_4_4/hu). And the help I got from the Ubuntu LoCo Team and the #xubuntu IRC channel did not encourage me a lot. :-/

So my new (and only) problem is to figure out how to install the already existing translations. Any idea? :-)

how about going in the main menu -> system -> language support?

Done. I have all the latest packages for Hungarian language support for weeks and updated regularly but quite a few buttons, labels are still in English.(E.g. "power off". Pretty basic, eh? :-))

Give a try with Xubuntu 8.04 with German language support. I suppose you haven't done it yet, have you?

to be honest, no. i prefer to have my system in english, simply because it's easier when asking for support.
