Within the last day (info via PC World), NeoSmart posted a link to a torrent download of a "Vista Recovery CD" that apparently is a new feature of Vista SP1. You can get it via Bit Torrent, Transmission, or whatever. Here is the page:

I have successfully downloaded the ISO file (about 120Mb). But I have not tried it, snce I don't have a problem with my multi-boot system. If you are a Vista user who installed Ubuntu (or any Linux) and made a bad installation of the boot files, maybe the above link will help you. Maybe not. Don't use it if you have the Vista installation DVD that came with your computer.

If you are an XP user without installation media, and need to fix your system, that topic is old. If you can't find any other fix-it, search for "Bart PE."
