View Full Version : [all variants] Got Ubuntu, now Installing to a second unformatted HD what will happen to grub

Disk one has Ubuntu, disk two is unformatted.
Got live cd of Kubuntu up so was going to manual partition.
Question is what will this do to the currently installed grub?

When you install grub, at least in Ubuntu Live cd, there is an option as to on which partition you want it placed.
At the last stage I think, press advanced, or something, and along with the option to install grub or not, you can choose the install partition.

Well... does everything boot ok at least - both Ubuntu and Kubuntu?

Didn't like it put mint on instead. That wouldn't pick my integrated nic card.
So repartition it from Hardy. Rebooted and got stage 1 error 15.
Booted supergrub and sorted it. Now have a 250gig storage area. Might try another distro but non seem to like my nic.
