can anybody help me to login at my GDM screen to reach my gui desktop?

I just installed Arch linux and got it up and running..

when i get to the GDM login screen it needs a username and password.....

but i never created any username or password when installing Arch...i never created any accounts

to log into Arch itself...it just meant typing....root......and them pressing enter...

somebody commented on the web that double clicking the GDM face image.....will log me into my desktop?

is there a simple way to log me in at the GDM screen and get me into my desktop?

If you log into Arch by typing root and enter, try that at the gdm login screen. Wow, that is really bad though. You have the root account enabled with no password. Does Arch linux have their own forums? You should go there to get help.

Edit: By the way, if the root and enter thing doesn't work it is probably because you have root login disabled in the gdm settings. That is the default, and so is probably the case. You will have to create a user to log in, or figure out how to enable root login. The latter is a bad idea.
