Hello, I have a weird problem that I cannot seem to solve..
I installed kubuntu 8.4 on my acer 7720g laptop, and whenever I boot, it will go through the boot process (kubuntu logo) and after that my screen goes blank.
I am not able to input anything (only to shutdown if I press the power button) and the machine seems totally unresponsive. I think that my screen does not go just blank, but shut of completely.
I tried the alternate install CD, same problem, tried to install under Vista (option with wubi) same result. Every time on the end when my login screen should appear I get a black (blank) screen.
I cannot look into my log files because I can not enter Linux (blank screen).
I tried to look into some forum threads but none seems to have the problem that I encounter, but I tried to append "all_generic_ide" into my grub menu (a solution I found somewhere) but the problem stays.
Is there anyone with this same problem and have a solution for me or do I have to stick to Vista (what I sincerely do not want)...
