Hi all,

I have been trying to do update these days but couldn't succeed because it is taking very long time to do so. Seems like the connection with the main server is not good especially after distribution upgrade to 8.04. Just wondering if there is something wrong with my apt-key or configuration (I am ignorant of this, just started using Linux last year), though I guess that shouldn't be the case since I haven't touched the /etc/apt/sources.list since I started using Ubuntu (well, I did once when I wanted to install Wine directly from the Wine server)

Not an important issue, just a bit annoyed though. XP

the update servers have been sluggish today. I changed my mirror by going into synaptic and going into settings -> repositories. I used the speed test to have it select a new mirror for me and it was much quicker.

Well your right, it did take about 3 hours to complete my upgrade. I finally toke the plunge and upgraded my Ubuntu 7.10 - Gutsy Gibbon to 8.04 LTS, I recorded the steps and captured it for anyone that would like to see exactly what was invloved in doing the upgrade. Take a look here (http://pcwizkid.blogspot.com/2008/05/ubuntu-804-hardy-heron-upgrade.html).
