View Full Version : [gnome] Broken menus

Hi,

After upgrading from Dapper 6.06 to Hardy 8.04 everything works correctly except for the gnome menus. They appear to be mixed up, containing some of the old Dapper stuff, and some (but not all) of the new additions (for instance there is no "Add/remove package" entry, there are two "Printing" entires, no Synaptic entry, etc.)

I have tried to edit the menus with alacarte with no success, both as a normal user an as a superuser (either the program hangs up or it doesn't make what it is supposed to do)

I have also tried to restore the default menus by removing all customization in my home folder (removing .local, .conf, .gconf. etc.) purging the package gnome-menus and reinstalling again, with no success.

For reference, if I create a new user, this new user still has the same broken menus.

I would like either to be able to restore the standard ubuntu menu or to edit the menu.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much,

Daniel
