hardy heron installation wont start on my laptop.

i get an error, udevd-event [1515] : run-program '/sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit.

after that I drop to an ash shell.

help? i am using a toshiba laptop with 2 gigs of ram, lots of hd space, and an intel pentium dual cpu T2730 with 1.73 Ghz

neither livecd nor windows-installation thing worked out..

Hi,

same problem on my machine: Satellite L300.
knoppix did install, but no network whatsoever.

lspci -vv is full of "Unknown device"s.
