Anyone know of any projects working with the mobile ui experience on desktops? I am looking for something couch surfer friendly with the look and feel of a mobile UI instead of a desktop.
-Kiosk modes are still hard to navigate without a mouse.
-Full screen browsers lack app launch and management tools.
-Some apps like MythTV get partially there, but are still not quite what I am looking for.
If I could pick up something like Android or the Ubuntu Mobile UI, and slap it on a regular PC/Small LCD combo, it would be perfect. Kinda like the old set-top MSN explorer boxes, or webtv.
Oeone Desktop used have a product, many years back, that ran a fullscreen desktop/kiosk using XUL, was a good idea, just ahead of it's time I think.
