External Harddrive and HIbernation problem

Ok, so I just got Ubuntu a couple days ago, and I noticed I keep on having the same problem with my external harddrive. Whenever I turn on my laptop after its been hibernating, I get two folders for my ext. hard drive, yet none of them contain any thing inside the folder. My ext. hard drive holds all my media files, and I cant access them. When I reboot my laptop, everything works perfectly again.

Any solutions?
