can't get online.

I installed 8.04 today and have been unable to go online. I have the codes from my internet provider but cannot find where to put them. Help!

post the output from this command:
#sudo ifconfig -a #This will show all network devices
You should be able to go through System => Admin => Networking
and edit you network devices as well.

How do you connect to the internet? Is it directly to a modem or via a router?
