Hi,

I currently have a Ubuntu 8.04LTS server

I am looking for some software that will allow me to create my own distribution of ubuntu, not for re-distribution, but as a backup incase the webserver were to fail, so i could re-install it easily.

I remember seeing a peice of software in the 7.10 desktop repositories, but since i've upgraded it doesn't appear to be available anymore.

Does anyone know of any system redistribution software?

A similar scenario could be a network administrator wishing to deploy a pre-configured system to all the clients on his network.

Thanks for any feedback in advanced

I don't know if this is the right answer, but you might want to take a look anyway:

Thanks for the links, the 3rd one, the ubuntuforums post, looks very useful.

I'll look into breaking down one of the bootable installation iso's and see if i can somehow intergrate that into it.

If i can then an emergency recovery disk could be easily made with just a few extra lines added to boot sequence.
