Hi all,
I use Ubuntu 8.04 at home with a broadband connection.
When I help my friends (who do not have an Internet connection) to add packages to their Ubuntu computers, I copy the appropriate .deb packages from my /var/cache/apt/archives folder to the same location on their computers.
The hassle I'm having is making these new packages show up in Synaptic (on their computers) so I can easily install them. I can't click the Reload button as their computers have no Internet connection.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in anticipation. John R.
