View Full Version : [ubuntu] My Multimedia files wont play after upgrading to 8.04

When I had 7.10, I could play my music library with either one of the players stated above. Ofcourse, I had to install plugins and things like that for them to be played, but version 8.04 seems to not have these kinds of plugins offered to download, or is it just me?

I have installed the ubuntu restricted extras to see if anything changed. I didnt notice any change. When I try to play music with either program, it gives me an error saying: "Playback Error: Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument." this goes for some mp4 video files too. I had no problems like these in Ubuntu version 7.10.

Also, I cannot get Java to work on my Firefox 2 (Firefox 3 beta which comes by default with 8.04 is horrible, so I switched back), some people have told me that installing the ubuntu extras fixes the problem, but still gives me the problem that it doesnt have the plugin.
