ive downloaded the 8.04 live cd
checked it for errors
tried to install
freezes during booting into gnome looks about 20%
im using a desktop evga 680i mainboard, intel E6750, evga nvidia 8600gt
serial ata hd, ide dvdrw
overdrank

Hi and welcome, when you reach the screen to start/install ubuntu press F6 and edit the kernel line and remove quiet splash. Also have you to use F4 to change your resolution.
