View Full Version : [ubuntu] The installer doesnt install ubuntu?

When installing and choosing my partition (10Gb, mount point: /, ext3) it just throws me right into a live session and it doesnt install on the harddrive..

Help? :)

Could you please be a little more specific with your problem? The way I see it, you were installing Ubuntu on your hard drive and then half-way through the installation it suddenly stops and the installer exits; is that correct?

Also could you provide the specifications for your PC.

No i press like "okay" on the last step (the one with me saying what username and things like that).

Then it just jumps into a live session :P

I have:
C2D
Gigabyte DS3 motherboard
X1850Pro ATI
2Gb RAM
1x 80Gb (partitioned into 2, one 10Gb and one 70Gb)
1x 200Gb Media HDD

So the installer exits at the part where you enter the username and password? If so, did you try running just the installer by pressing "Install Ubuntu" instead of the one to start the full Live environment?
