Hi,

I just installed Hardy Heron tonight after using Gutsy Gibbon. The video and the sound are both extrememly choppy and skippy.

My soundcard is SoundBlaster and my video card is NVIDIA (yes, I know...), thinking I might need to install the Mediterrean flash on here too. I did get the Flash non-free from Synaptic, but I believe I have to get the other one too like I did it Gutsy.

YouTube plays just terrible all choppy and hardly any video.

I just noticed I can't find anyplace that lists the hardware my machine has installed, like a "hardware profile." I thought there was one on Gutsy, figured there would be on Heron...Maybe I don't know where to look...

Any help is greatly appreciated! thanks cheryl

Hi

The choppy/bulky/jerky playback is regression on adobe part with their player v9.0.124, you can either wait for an update from adobe -or- use v9.0.48 [what I did].

Check:

I'm not sure which program you mean in the second part, but if you still have the liveCD for gutsy you can check for the program name there, and then search for it in Synaptic later.
