I would NEVER use limewire... the RIAA and all them anti-piracy people watch limewire 24/7 looking for people downloading illegal downloading....

I would use a torrent program .... BitTorrent might work for your Mac, torrents are harder to trace. if you download something make sure its "tracker" is not on the list below... the list below are FAKE trackers, the RIAA and them people upload torrents with these
and if u download them, they got your IP and your busted...

Frostwire (http://www.frostwire.com/?id=downloads)
Free version of Limewire that runs on Ubuntu/Debian.
Looks exactly the same as Limewire.

Soulseek. It has a much more extensive network of music files than both torrents and limewire together. If you're serious about music, this is the P2P app to be using. It's focused on album downloads, with users sorting their individual files in folders with album, artist, etc. Oh did I mention it's ad- and spyware free?

Official website (http://www.slsknet.org) - Has FAQs, link to Windows Client
Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soulseek) - Other info.
Alternate Clients (http://forums.slsknet.org/ipb/index.php?showforum=17) - Forums with discussion of alternate client. SoulseeX should work for Mac users.

Send me a PM if you find yourself on it, and I'll add you to my friends list for file-sharing. :D

I agree, SoulSeek is a must for music downloading.
Nicotine Plus (http://nicotine-plus.sourceforge.net/) is the best SoulSeek client IMO for Ubuntu.
