I had a Kubuntu 7.10 system (and Wine worked fine there).
[I tried an UPGRADE (using the álternate CD for 8.04),
and that wouldn't boot.]
So, I did a clean INSTALL of Kubuntu 8.04. Most everything,
including Compiz-Fusion, works fine.
But, the BAD news is that Wine is badly broken on 8.04. (It
will not bring up some trivial Win-apps that have worked for
years under wine.)
In an effort to overcome the problem (with the repo Wine 0.9.59),
I upgraded to 0.9.60 and then to 0.9.61, but neither of those
fixes it.
Anyone else seeing Wine problems on 8.04?
TIA...
Dave
