View Full Version : [ubuntu] [SOLVED] Distro in a distro?

Hi there,

First, I LOVE Ubuntu! I'm running Hardy and I don't feel like a total n00b although this is my first foray into Linux...

BUT --

I'm looking for a way to install a small distro for translators (linguasOS) from inside Ubuntu so that I can take advantage of the many open source translation software out there -- which I can't find with Ubuntu, unfortunately :o(.

I know it's possible, but every howto I've come across sounds like an unknown language, and most are not specific to Ubuntu.

Is there an easy, newbie way to do this?

You might want to try running it in a virtual machine. "virtualbox" is a good application for such endeavors.

You could ask for help in the Virtualization forum. There's even a topic for getting started in virtualization. Here's the link:
