After Hardy upgrade I make some mistake trying to configure an external monitor with my intel 945 card on my laptop.
After that I had many problems trying to restore a good video resolution I removed all the /etc/X11/xorg.* files and X server run very well. But the touchpad (a synaptics one) doesn't work and in the system>preferences>mouse configuration windows the possibility to configure the touchpad is disappeared. I also noticed that the video is working but the xorg.conf files was not recreated.
How is it possbile to have a valid xorg.conf file where to add synaptics configuration?
