Frustrated Linux want to be

Trying to use Ubuntu 7.10 on Thinkpad T60. Worked fine off startup CD from Linux Format magazine. Installed on hard drive and when try and boot I get the following error:


GRUB loading
Starting up...
1.080000 kernal panic not syncing:VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (0,0)
