new installation of hardy makes hard drive light flash all the time

Hi ever since I installed hardy heron 7.04 the hard drive light just flickers all the time.

I wonder why.

I'm not doing anything router light isn't flashing.

you may find that trackerd is up at the top of the list every few seconds.

it may just be that tracker (the search tool) is indexing your files for you.

Just an off-hand guess.

Don't see tracker in list and switched it off anyway

made no diference!

I just noticed that 1 cpu core is always going 100% and whiptail is using 95% cpu!

Install SMART monitor and see the specs. I had a hard drive issue with gutsy I never figured out.
one of my new 500 gig drives is toast now.
