I tried installing ubuntu 7.10 yesterday in my laptop HP pavilion dv6000, but after the GUI asked me how I would like to proceed I choose the option “start or install ubuntu”, after that is shows normally (the word ubuntu in the screen and below it a loading bar), but with no reason a black screen showed up (as a DOS screen) with some kind of messages and after that the screen start behaving weird (turning yellow) and hung after that.
I know that my laptop should support ubuntu with no problem, but I wasn’t able to find any report of a problem like this.
If you have any idea I would really appreciate it.
