Hi,

I just downloaded and burned the 32 bit iso of 8.4. After rebooting, I can get to the menu, but selecting any options, such as the live cd one or installation, does not bring a new screen. Even check cd for defects does not work. The same problem happened on a different computer. The cd was burned fine as I can browse it in other OS with no problem. Is this a installation CD bug?

I can only advise to download it again and burn the cd on a low speed.
Burning at high speed will increase the chance of a failure.

Will the "burn at low speed" myth never die?

Burn at any speed. Verify the disk. Burning at low speed can actually be worse.

Note to original poster: Tons of people are installing using the install CD's, so yes they work. Your machine must have some other problem. Possibly a dirty drive?

When you get to menu try this

(1)Press F6 and highlight acpi=off and hit enter and Esc
(2)Press F4 and highlight Graphic safe mode and hit enter and Esc

now try any one option from manu ( Live CD or Installation )
