Adding Items to the Applications menu programmatically

Hi there,

I am writing a script in bash that installs and configures a windows program under wine ( you can get the code here: http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/forumspace/files/myphoneinstaller.tar.gz ). One of the last things I want to add to it is to add menu items in the "Applications -> Accessories" menu, and in the "Applications -> Wine -> Programs -> My Phone Explorer" directories. I have searched and found absolutely nothing on the internet, so I am turning to the experience of the ubuntuforums folk :guitar:

Create a .desktop file in the standard folder (/usr/share/applications?).
