Hello ole wise ones.

I recently installed 8.04 desktop and enjoy the GUI, I am working on setting up and developing a home network and would like to maintain the ease of the desktop version but install the LAMP so I can play around and get used to the how a server works before reloading one of my systems as a dedicated server.

I have read a few posts but was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback as to what I will need to do to accomplish this or if it would be best to just install the server first (btw I did load the 8.04 server and ended up pulling out my hair as I could not get the GUI to load at all, so went back to the desktop).

Let me say thanks in advance, and thank you all for providing in MHO the best OS alternative around today.
