I just installed Hardy on a HP dv6704nr (TK-57) laptop. It seemed pretty easy and quick even with creating partitions. I'm a newbie to Ubuntu, so I started playing around a bit and must say I like it alot. I'm excited about it!

I've identified a few important things for me to fix first that did not work, to use it more everyday rather than Vista. They are the following:

1) 3-D graphics support (NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M (UMA) card)
2) wifi internet (Atheros card, I think)
3) connecting a external storage device via USB (it didn't seem to work)
4) how do I run the in-built firewall ? Do I need any Anti-Virus/Spyware type software ?

This is not in any specific order. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

You don't need anti virus. Your iptables open ports for programs that need it (like openssh)
