View Full Version : [gnome] .Trash-001 created unwanted on NFS shares. Samba or Gnome?

I recently switched an office network over from an Ubuntu+Samba server with Windows clients to NFS shares with Ubuntu Linux clients. All are 8.04 Hardy.

One or more (or all) of the clients is creating a .Trash-001 folder on the NFS share mounts under /media/sharename.

Is this a GNOME feature, or an artifact of a Samba connection to those same shares, which are still visible under SAMBA for the moment.

I can turn off Samba today, as we expunged the last windows client. If it's not Samba, Can I instruct GNOME not to create .Trash on certain folders?

server /etc/exports:
/archives/foo 192.168.10.1/24(rw,sync,subtree_check)

/etc/fstab:
server1:/archives/foo /media/foo nfs rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr
Thanks.
